About me
Rebecca Mirro is a nurse coordinator who cares for adults with digestive system cancers. Certified in oncology nursing, she provides support, education and review of symptoms before and after patients have surgery. She enjoys decoding the medical jargon and complexities of health care to empower patients and their families as they navigate treatments for cancer.
Mirro has assisted in developing new nurse navigator roles at UCSF. She has also worked with the patient education committee to create informational materials for cancer patients undergoing new therapies and procedures.
Mirro earned her bachelor's degree in nursing at Ramapo College of New Jersey. Since relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2013, she has spent more than a decade working in cancer care, including specializations in breast oncology and radiation oncology.
